The Six Stages

Each of these support offerings are developed with 6 stages in mind. These stages are designed to challenge your thoughts, feelings and emotions surrounding your behaviours. This then progresses to working on the health behaviours influencing how you feel day-to-day. They co-exist, and therefore it is important all areas are explored. This isn't always comfortable, but is always worth it.

EMOTION

Emotions are the core to human existence. They are the root of connection, reflection and action. As a result of this, emotions can become intrinsically linked to our behaviours, both positively and negatively. Therefore, they are the foundation to the 6 stage process.

DIET

Food is life, and growth. It helps us develop physically, it is often used for social connection. Food is a sensory experience, engaging multiple brain regions. This is why relationships with food can often be complexly linked with our behaviours, and why it is covered as part of the 6 stage process.

EXERCISE

Exercise serves a variety of purposes. Some use it to build strength, others for wellbeing, and others just for the joy of movement. However, when it is used for punishment or carried out compulsively, it becomes unsustainable and unenjoyable, so we will create a plan around this.

BODY IMAGE

Body image is our constantly evolving perception of ourselves. There are so many things that influence this, and there are times where it is more challenging to perceive ourselves positively. The tools and techniques to managing this effectively is a large part of the 6 stage process.

STRESS

Stress management is so important, as stress is a big part of modern day life. Stress impacts our motivation and therefore impacts the likelihood of engaging in healthy behaviours or not. Understanding the impact of stress is a part of the process that maintains your progress after you finish.

SLEEP

Sleep isn't just about how tired we feel. It is responsible for supporting our nervous system, to keep us healthy, improve our memory and concentration, helping us stay on track with making behaviour change. Sleep is fundamental to progress, and we will look at changing behaviours around sleep too.
